Gray is the soon-to-be “it” color of the upcoming fall fashion season. If you don’t know how to pair gray with your wardrobe, then you need to be at Talbots’ upcoming Girls’ Night Out Fall Fashion Event.

Models won’t strut down a runway, showing fashions the average woman could never wear to work. This event is all about pairing women with clothes that make them feel comfortable and fashionable.

“(Models) are just going to be mingling throughout the store, answering any questions about the outfits,” said Melinda Wheeler, Talbots’ assistant manager.

Outfits also will be on display in the store, with options on how to add a desired pop of color or coordinating jewelry or outerwear.

Talbots will be extending their regular hours to accommodate the event, which is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the N. Main Street location. They will offer light refreshments and door prizes from local businesses will be given away, Ms. Wheeler said.

Ten different looks for fall will be shown during the event, giving women options for this season’s clean, effortless sportswear style that holds an underlying emphasis on menswear.

One of this season’s new trends that will be on display is a short cape or knit capelet, to wear in place of a jacket. Other trends include long, fluid cardigans that add a modern touch to straight-leg pants.

The Anderson Talbots store offers sizes ranging from missy 4 to 16 and petite 2 to 14, so their selection is a bit different than other area Talbots’ stores that have different size ranges, Ms. Wheeler said. All the clothes shown in Friday’s event will be available in the Anderson store, she said.

This is the first year the Anderson’s Talbots has done a fashion show, and it will join other stores in its sales district holding such an event, Ms. Wheeler said.

“I think it’s going to be fun,” she added. “We want it to be fun and casual.”
