LEXINGTON, SC - Margaret Austin Shirk of Irmo, S.C. and Charles Warren Felkel of Aiken, S.C. were married Saturday, August 16, 2008 in St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Lexington, S.C. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The Rev. Dr. Patrick Riddle officiated. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Shirk of Irmo. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. James M. Austin, Jr. and the late Dr. James M. Austin, Jr. of Lexington and Mr. and Mrs. Keith E. Shirk of Des Moines, Iowa. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Felkel, Jr. of Aiken. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Campbell of Belton and Mr. and Mrs. John A. Felkel, Sr. of Orangeburg, S.C. Elizabeth Shirk of Irmo, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lynn Austin of Greenville, cousin of the bride, Lauren Davis of Charleston, Meghan Derderian of Columbia, Lucy Johnson of Hollandale, Mississippi, Danielle Peregoy of Aiken and Sarah Young of Lexington, all friends of the bride. John A. Felkel, Jr., father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Preston Felkel of Lexington, brother of the groom, Andrew Shull of Newberry, cousin of the groom, Kyle Dawson of Aiken, Allen Klump of Simpsonville, Ryan Mulvey of Aiken and Ty Roberts of Lexington, all friends of the groom. The bride is a graduate of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Converse College with a degree in Accounting. She is employed by Burkett, Burkett and Burkett C.P.A. P.A. and is pursuing a Master of Accountancy at the University of South Carolina. The bridegroom is a graduate of South Aiken High School. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He is employed by Grant Thornton L.L.P. and is pursuing a Master of Accountancy at the University of South Carolina. Following a reception in the church social hall with music provided by the Jackson Sisters String Quartet, the couple left for a wedding trip to Fripp Island. They will reside in Columbia.
