Three keys to a successful season
1. Win at least five of the first six.
Georgia should open with a pair or relatively easy wins against Georgia Southern and Central Michigan, then the Bulldogs get, in order, South Carolina, Arizona State, Alabama and Tennessee. The Bulldogs can probably survive one loss in its title quest, but need to enter the second half no worse than 5-1.
2. Find a kicker.
Brandon Coutu was one of the greatest place-kickers in Georgia history, and the Bulldogs will need another good one to reach their goals in 2008. Blair Walsh, a true freshman, will get the call when the season begins.
3. Knowshon Moreno must avoid sophomore jinx.
Moreno was a breakout star as a redshirt freshman, and he’ll need to have another big year to allow Matthew Stafford and the passing game to keep opposing defenses guessing.
