John and Jacque Staed of Anderson announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Jaclyn Staed of Anderson to Corey Matthew Bishop of Roanoke, VA. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Eli James Kimsey and the late Jeanette Kimsey of Sevierville, TN and the late Mr. and Mrs. Matthew E. Staed of Nashville, TN. She is a 2006 graduate of Hollins University with a B.A. in communication studies and a 2007 graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with an M.S., public relations. She is the communications coordinator with the U.S. Figure Skating Association in Colorado Springs, CO.The groom-elect is the son of Ellen Martin of Boones Mill, VA and Thomas Bishop of St. Augustine, FL. He is the grandson of Herbert and Annie Martin of Boones Mill, VA and Evangeline Bishop of Roanoke. He is a 2004 graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management. He is a manager with Starbucks Coffee in Colorado Springs. Rebecca and Corey met in Roanoke while she was an undergraduate at Hollins and he was manager of a Mill Mountain Coffee and Tea. They became engaged June 2008 atop Quandary Peak in Breckenridge, CO. The couple will be wed May 24, 2009 at Hollins University’s DuPont Chapel. The reception will immediately follow at the Corinthian Ballroom in downtown Roanoke. Honeymoon plans are yet uncertain.
