ANDERSON COUNTY After a 41-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing heartburn and nasal congestion medications from Quality Foods in Anderson, but that wasn’t the end of her woes.
Authorities said deputies at the Anderson County Detention Center discovered a concealed plastic bag with almost two dozen controlled pills in her groin area.
Melissa Phillips of Pearl Harbor Way in Anderson was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 207 S.C. 28 Bypass grocery store, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies first charged Phillips with shoplifting and after her arrest added possession of a controlled substance, according to the incident report.
The prescription pills were found when detention officers and medical staff became suspicious of Phillips’ behavior at the jail and conducted a strip search, finding 20 to 25 Xanax pills in a Ziploc baggy, Deputy Kevin Pearson said in the report.
Prior to the search, Phillips was observed putting her hands in her underwear and “moving in an awkward manner,” Pearson said in the report.

Another brilliant scholar...where are they coming from?? Some more shark bait as far as I'm concerned.
I'm always amazed to read about people that are stupid enough to commit other crimes while in possession of drugs. You'd think they'd leave the drugs at home in case they got caught.Duh!
The best one yet was when those idiots drove to the Sheriff's office in a stolen car with crack cocaine and pills on them to DEMAND their money back that had been seized in a drug bust.
