On MTV's "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods," five girls remained, including Anderson native Bailey Hanks. And to level the “play”-ing field, the remaining non-blondes made the hair color transition in Monday's episode.
Bailey Hanks and the other four were given a makeover to start, and Bailey even sobbed over a trim and a touch of color. So how would she react to the newest challenge where the girls were asked to sing one of the of the most difficult songs: the “Legally Blonde” ballad. Things didn’t go as well for the Anderson native who many think as the frontrunner.
“I gotta say, I feel a little let down,” said judge Bernie Telsey of Bailey’s audition of the song. “You act with your hands a lot,” Paul Cannan said.
For the first time, Bailey was sent to the casting office with the chance of going home before anyone thought she would. But after some formulaic drama, Bailey was safe to continue on her way for another episode.
With only two episodes left, Anderson can keep rooting for the local girl looking to make her way on Broadway. And maybe the trip to the elimination table will make her that much better.

This is news??? Good grief.
I've got to say, it is a whole lot better than "news" about someone breaking a window with a flower pot, that was in here yesterday. Go Bailey.....
Be proud of this talented Anderson girl and yes this is news. This is a bigger accomplishment than most of you apparently realize. How many people do you know in Anderson or even the entire state of S.C. that have made it to Broadway? I know of one that made it to Off Broadway & possibly one that was on Broadway in Anderson county. Although I do not know Bailey personally, she is a beautiful and talented. She is also somebody's daughter, sister, friend, etc. and they have a right to be proud. Anderson should be proud of the national attention also!
Please!!! Proud? Of what? A whining 20 something, use to getting her way? I think we have other things to be proud of. Yeah, I am glad for her and her family but, all this attention is hardly worth it. There is much more going on in the world and in this county that is worthy of being printed.
who cares? crybaby
Bailey is a great person, extremely talented and has a wonderful family. I'm always glad to hear someone from around here is doing well. I had the pleasure of working with her in community theatre and she is a first class person with excellent character. Go Bailey!
