Clemson University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute has won the Association for Continuing Higher Education’s Older Adult Model Program award for 2008.
The award is to be presented in November in Nashville at the 70th annual conference of the association.
According to a news release, the Older Adult Model Program award is given to a member of the association in recognition of a program or activity which provides outstanding learning opportunities or services to an older adult population.
OLLI is primarily geared toward retirees who teach and learn from instructors as well as one another. The current catalog offers 83 courses in the program. Topics covered in the program include photography, computer training and woodcarving.
