Getting a good thriller on the big screen can be some of the best entertainment you can find. Getting it live and on stage is often even better.
Opening Friday and running Saturday, Sunday and Aug. 1 and 2, the Clemson Little Theatre presents “Dial M for Murder” with five performances over two weekends.
Margot is a rich socialite who recently has married Tony Wendice. While she believed she was marrying for love, Tony has very different motives in mind. He married Margot strictly for her money and now plans to bump her off in the perfect murder.
Tony blackmails a scoundrel he once knew into killing his wife while he arranges an airtight alibi for himself. But the attempted murder goes south, the killer dies and his wife survives. Rather than take this as a sign to quit while he’s ahead, Tony sees it as an opportunity to frame his wife for murder — of the person who tried to kill her.
In order for this nefarious plan to succeed, Tony must thwart the suspicions of a Scotland Yard police inspector and a man who happens to be in love with Margot himself. Will they find out the truth in time?
Find out at the Clemson Little Theatre.
Shows will run at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Aug. 1 and 2. The Sunday matinee will be at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for college students (with ID) and those younger than 19.
