ANDERSON, SC - Laura Ruth Maddox and Benjamin Mark Hammond were married July 26, 2008 at Boulevard Baptist Church. A reception followed at Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill. The bride is the daughter of Sandra Childress Maddox and Barry Hershel Maddox, both of Anderson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin R. Childress, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Maddox. The groom is the son of Robert Gordon Hammond and Carolyn Bailey Hammond of Anderson. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hammond and Mrs. Sophia Bailey and the late Mr. Monroe Bailey. Maid of Honor was Caroline Edwards, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ashley Clayton, Erin Holbrook, Allison Ridley and Mary Beth Ross, all friends of the bride. Junior Bridesmaid was Julia McDonald, cousin of the bride.Best Man was Gordon Hammond, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Brad Hammond and Andrew Hammond, brothers of the groom, Benjamin Maddox and David Maddox, brothers of the bride, and Brooks Hammond, cousin of the groom, Lawton Davis, Lyle Davis, John Davis, and Alan Jones, all friends of the groom.The bride is a 2005 graduate of Clemson University and received a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from The Citadel. She will graduate from The Citadel's School Psychology Specialist in Education program in May 2009 and will be completing an internship in Lexington School District 4. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Clemson University and is an engineer for Woolpert Inc. in Columbia. He is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Engineering at the University of South Carolina.After a wedding trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the couple will reside in Columbia, SC.
