Daniel and Seneca will meet for the 61st time on Friday. Daniel leads the all-time series 38-20-2. Daniel’s won eight of the last 11 meetings as the teams have alternated wins since 2004. This is the third straight year they’ll only play once.
Last year’s 21-7 Daniel (6-0, 1-0) win was the Lions’ fourth in what was an eventual nine-game winning streak. Tailback Michael Wingard led Daniel with 95 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. While this week’s matchup at Seneca (1-5, 0-1) appears to be heavily favored toward Daniel, the Bobcats are coming off a 16-13 loss to Pickens when they held the high-powered Blue Flame offense to its lowest output of the season — by 19 points.
