ANDERSON The Foothills Alliance Sexual Trauma Center on Calhoun Street in Anderson is offering volunteer training those interested in helping sexual assault victims and their family members.
Training will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., November 3, 6, 10, 13, and 17. The volunteer training includes a free, comprehensive study of sexual assault; legal and medical issues surrounding sexual assault; emergency response in handling 24-hour crisis calls; crisis victim advocacy at the hospital after a crime has been committed; and an overview of the Foothills Sexual Trauma Center.
The Sexual Trauma Center is part of the Foothills Alliance, a nonprofit agency dedicated to preventing sexual assault. Those interested should call Rose Morrison or Cristel Byrne at (864) 231-7273 before Oct. 24 to complete an interview. Volunteers must attend all five classes.
