City of Anderson police have determined a suspect in the Saturday afternoon shooting of a man in Belton Woods apartments in Anderson.
City police are looking for Channing Derrell Chester, 18, of Anderson and have obtained warrants for assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is described as a black male that is 6 foot 1 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.
The incident occurred around 1:41 p.m. at 109 Howard Lane in Anderson on Saturday, according to city police. A black male was shot and has been transported to the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, where he was being treated Saturday but his current status is unknown, said Randall Williams, a spokeperson for the county police on Sunday night.
