“What an outstanding honor and accomplishment this is for the entire East End community,” said Lee M. D’Andrea, School District of Pickens County superintendent.
This year’s winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on October 20-21. Phyllis Venable, a fifth- grade teacher, will accompany the principal to the ceremony. Following their return, a school-wide celebration which will include a blue parade is planned for the afternoon of October 22. Children and guests will be encouraged to wear blue.
