Downtown Sounds organizers appreciate support

STORY TOOLS

Thanks to the residents of Anderson and the Upstate for support of Bill Marcie-John Barrett Downtown Sounds.

I am constantly impressed by the growth in downtown Anderson, and the acceptance of Main Street Events in the community.

The second year of DTS has shown solid growth, and serves as a great example of what can happen to a community when quality entertainment is offered in a relaxed setting in a beautiful downtown.

The restaurants and retailers in the downtown area have been great to work with, and have seen consistent growth in their business with the increased traffic.

The city of Anderson has worked hand-in-hand as we work to develop and improve Downtown Sounds, and I thank them for their commitment. Our corporate partners have been giving and supportive. All we ask is that if you are ever in need of their services, that you give them a chance to earn your business — a small request for their time and financial commitment.

Music is the name of the game, and we were very fortunate to have quality local, regional and national acts. These groups know when a community is accepting and they want to play for you as much as you want to see them. We work hard to provide a variety of “energy” music each week, and I know that we met and exceeded that goal.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the spring with the third season of Bill Marcie-John Barrett Downtown Sounds.

Byron K. Rucker, executive director, Main Street Events, Inc.
