Belton-Honea Path High School hosted Westside High School for football in Honea Path. Fans packed the home stands to support the home team and watch the marching band at halftime. The Bears won 48-14.

Westside hosted the first of two games against each other this season before the two meet again at T.L. Hanna November 5. On the opening kickoff Thomas Burdette returned the ball for a touchdown and the Yellow Jackets never lost the lead, winning 42-6.

The D.W. Daniel football team lost their second-consecutive AAA Upperstate championship game at home on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009. Clinton High School held off a second-half rally to win 35-28.

Belton-Honea Path hosted Clinton in the Class AAA state playoffs. Quarterback Nino Woolridge capped the first drive of the game with a touchdown run to give the Bears a 7-0 early lead. Clinton scored 26 unanswered points in the rest of the first half and managed the clock in the second half to keep the Bears from coming back. Clinton won 39-13.
