When they learn how to manage the 5 pennies they are getting now, then maybe I'll think about giving them another one.
Also, the county's tax assessment on my house just went up 10% this year, even tho property values are going down nationwide, so they can take that penny they want and put it where the sun don't shine.

"He supports a posse system in which citizens are trained to work with police on minor calls."
He did state that the posse would be trained, maybe kind of a citizen militia that could be drawn upon as needed isn't that bad of an idea.
I wouldn't expect them to be showing up at domestic violence calls, but having someone other than a cop to redirect traffic during a crisis would free up more real cops for what needs to be done.
I don't know enough about Gough to say if I'll vote for him or not, but the idea of training a volunteer force that can assist the police doesn't sound that crazy to me.

I also disagree with the ban on "slogans/symbols that may lead to disorder".
Does this mean my old "Question Authority" T-Shirt would be banned as well?
That catch-all clause at the end of the list could be used by anyone to censor any political speech that any individual teacher disagrees with.
Back in the 80's when I was in High School you could wear whatever you liked so long as it didn't have profanity, nudity or show your unmentionables, and we all turned out just fine.

Just the fact that Crenshaw was driving with an expired license for over a year is reason enough for me not to vote for him. Same goes with Lt. Gov. Bauer's speeding tickets that he tried to weasel out of by saying he's "SC2".
Any elected official that does not obey or respect the law does not deserve to be in office. No exceptions.

On Anderson sheriff candidates tout plans, disagree on leadership

The article states there is no democrat running for sheriff, but that does not mean the winner will automatically get the job. There is an Independent candidate declared for Anderson County Sheriff.
Dennis Gough is the candidate and his website is:

Voting NO.
This bill wastes money on new projects before dealing with the crumbling infrastructure that presently exists.
They just jacked up my property tax assessment 10% and now they want a 17% increase in the sales tax, no freaking way!
We took care of our incumbent council-critter in the primary, please take care of yours on November 4th.
