I just love hearing it is not our job. but I can bet if it was a case of neglect or abuse PEARL would be finding out where the horses came from. I am sorry if I have a negative attitude but they claim to be a rescue site but I guess they can pick and choice. And if they have a lack of pasture why are they wanting to bring in horses from the coast. And from the pictures these horses are not hurting for food. LOL

On Officials seeking owners of stray horses found in Anderson

I would be glad to give the owner a chance to explain. But in the past 8 months this place has been in the news 1st was last fall when the hay shortage started to be noticed. they claimed they wounld not be able to help with horse rescues because of the hay shortage. then they turn around and get people to raise all this money so they can go to an horse sale to save horses from the kill buyers and were able to save over 70 some horses. Ahhhh what is wrong with this picture if you cant feed extras then why bring more mouths to feed to your home. And why was the horse that died not already buried. Just because she was out of town dont get it. Most of us that have horses know that at anytime we could loose one. And in the owners case I am sure she has someone that does bury them. Most vets that deal with large animals also know of people who can help so it sounds more like She could not be bothered. It would only take a phone call I am sure. And as already mentioned there is a paper trail to tell when she took these horses in. If everything is on the up and up with this place fine if not she needs to be treated just She has treated these horses. I hope if she is in the wrong that Abbeville County sees that she pays.
