Why doesn't the county do like the city and hire an attorney full time. The city attorney does not handle any cases other than for the city. The City provides him an office and secretary in the city hall building. I don't know his salary, but he does not have to pay rent, phone or utilities. He may have a city car, but I don't know that to be fact.

I do not think that Anderson County will be disappointed in the selection of Mr. Cunningham. Actually he will be exactly what Anderson has needed. The citizens will find him honest, carring, intelligent, and available. I personally wish him very well.

Yankeefann.....just because someone does not see it your way....you think they are wrong...Just maybe you are wrong!!!! The newspaper did not print what you wanted them to, so now they are wrong and you are critical of everything.
FYI....The museum is owned by the county and is part of county government. (How many times have you visited the museum??) I think I know your culture level.

If you boycott the "gang of five".....does that mean that you will not come to council meetings?? I hope so.....
Council has spoken....Will nothing ever satisfy you??? You wanted him (JP) gone...That has happened. You wanted someone in that office that would be transparent and honest...That has also happened...Please let it go!! It is a done deal.

Good luck Mr. Cunningham.....You are so qualified for this job and you have always been nothing short of honest, sincere and such a positive role model for Anderson's youth. I wish you well.

Not too long ago, the rick is wrong group was willing to spend a million dollars if necessary to find out where a few thousand dollars was spent. You wanted JP gone ASAP regardless of the cost......Now he will be gone and your new council can come into a brand new situation. Mr. Cunningham is extremely intelligent and has never been a puppet to JP. Mr. Cunningham is not an assistant to JP, but is actually 2nd in command for Anderson County. I think you will find him transparent in his work ethics and available to the citizens of Anderson County. I know him to be very honest and a real community activist. He does not drink or smoke. He appears to be happily married with a couple of children. He serves on several community boards.
Lets wish him well and give him a chance. I for one believe this is a great opportunity for Anderson.

Congrats....Your district still has faith and confidence in you. I believe you have served them well and will continue to do so. Thank you for your service. jwhigg is not in your district and voice-of-reason is just assuming what will happen in in the future due to being wrong in this one. Keep them straight Gracie....and continue to do what is right for Anderson County. Don't let them intimidate you.

You may be a professor at Clemson, but I would be concerned to think that you could influence my children to believe in and live by the Qur'an.
You quote the Qur'an as though it is a good thing. I question your motive.
I have a quote from the Qur'an too... “If you have made a treaty with infidels who are honorable, do not break the treaty until after the holy months are past. Then fight them and kill them wherever you find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and ambush them.” — Qur’an 9:4-5
“Strike terror into the hearts of . . . your enemies.” — Qur’an 8:60 “And slay them wherever ye find them.” — Qur’an 2:191
Your story of Abraham and the ant proves my point...The ant is showing whose side he is on...Not living too peacefully when you have to choose sides....!!

McCain will be a good president. Obama will turn us toward socialism. That keeps me awake at night. I really don't need the government to tell me how to control my money.
If Obama wins.....you better hold on to your wallet and make room for some strange bedfellows from all over the world. Our enemies are all financially supporting Obama. I wonder why.
Out of 43 previous presidents, they have all promised the same thing.....None can nor will deliver. If they could, we would all be healthy, wealthy, and wise and could leave our doors open at night.

Until the seats change in council, the current council has control and can vote on anything right up until the new members take office. I can't believe the new members will come into office and immediately try to change this action. They will look foolish and Anderson County has looked foolish long enough. Let it go. You have Michael Cunningham, willing to take on this mess and if you will let him do the job that the current council voted for him to do, I believe you will be proud. Please give him a chance and stop whinning about everything.
